QueenLoonie of Nevada, Assemblywoman Michele Fiore, will be visiting Portland, Oregon to protest the Bundy arrests and to ask for the release of additional audio and video tape of the shooting of LaVoy “TarpMan” Finicum. Arrival date of the holy visitation appears to be Thursday for a news conference. A third unnamed Nevada politician may attend, as well.
There are conspiracy theories going around that black ops are involved both in Burns and were involved with the arrests/shooting. Fiore, unsurprisingly, seems to have bought into the paranoia:
“The grainy footage with no audio — it looks like an ambush of tactical guys. It looks like it might have been hired out,” Fiore said. “We have questions.” source
Joining her will be Nevada Assembly member Shelly Shelton (Las Vegas). Shelly Shelton wrote this, comparing Finicum to both Christ and Moses, on her Facebook page (Jan. 27 posting):
In any given generation there are men who are willing to stand for what they believe. Most of the time they are demonized and the uninformed are made to believe they are criminals.
From Moses who killed an Egyptian for abusing his people, to Jesus who died on a cross as a condemned criminal, many of those who operate outside the box and promote love and justice over the current form of government are treated as outcasts and many times murdered.
Yikes.
There was considerable confusion during the day, Monday, as a report from Oregon Public Broadcasting stated that Cliven Bundy was planning a trip to both Burns, Oregon and Portland. Later in the day, another news venue reported that Fiore would be traveling, but not Cliven. A facebook page of a known active militia member in Washington reported in a video that they had spoken to Carol Bundy who indicated that Cliven would not be traveling at this time because of important [unnamed] business. A bodyguard for Cliven, staying at his ranch, also posted that they were not traveling.
Later in the day, the Las Vegan Sun clarified that Fiore and Shelton would be making the trip.
I’ve no idea if this is the last word.

David Fry, of PopTart and the Three Loons, continues to take Cliven’s instructions to stay at the refuge to heart. Ammon, however, had asked him and the Loons to abandon ship and go back to their families. Unfortunately for Ammon and his four little pals, they refused to bail early on and all now have a federal indictment against them proving that sometimes timing really is everything. And all, supposedly, because of tyranny and oppression of ranchers who sign a contract to use America’s public lands for grazing at highly subsidized prices. Poor babies.

On Monday, I posted a story on the peculiarities of the faux judge positions associated with the Sovereign Citizen movement currently active in Burns. And lo and behold, what did I find today on twitter? A plea from whining faux Judge, Bruce Doucette, which is so ironic it’s entirely funny. And Gargoyle’s tweeted response to it is even better:
Such a perfect response.

Another member of the armed refuge standoff was arrested on Monday, Kansan Brandon Dowd. Dowd had a weapons theft warrant out for his arrest.
Dowd was seen about three weeks ago carrying a rifle and guarding the main entrance to the refuge. He was also seen spending time inside the refuge headquarters.
Dowd is accused of stealing a firearm worth about $600 from a 65-year-old man in May, 2015, a spokesman for the police department said. source
One more refuge crackpot down, bunches to go.

Finally, there is a request for militia patriots to go to the Narrows RV Park, which supported the occupation early on and I guess still does, for an on-going protest and vigil. Make a note of that, birders.
For days, there have been posts and pleas on multiple militia Facebook accounts calling out one another, defending one another, begging for cohesiveness. Almost sound like posts at a favorite democratic blog of mine.
There was one funny Facebook post on how current members at the RV Park were hanging their flags (incorrectly) and their use of the confederate flag which he cited as a no-no (bad optics; that’s the only reason). I had to laugh. As though their entire movement isn’t one big, giant bad optic.
It will be interesting to see how energetic the patriot rallies are. I kind of think revolutionaries don’t really get too revved up over rallies. Maybe I’m wrong, but they don’t seem to match their hostile, often violent rhetoric.
Now that I know where they are, however, I might send some glitter. Maybe that would be inspirational.
I will end with the content of a tweet that perfectly sums up those still at the refuge:
Quite possibly the dumbest group ever assembled These guys need years of education just to become morons.
Amen.
UPDATE: Apparently, the faketriots were asked to leave the Narrows RV Park. According to a Facebook post of one of the leaders at the park, they have now left the park and moved down the road. They did not reveal their exact location, but they are, apparently, close by. I contacted the RV Park and apparently that is the case.
